Doyle Lee left this world on April 18, 2025 at the age of 80, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ivan Smelker (Doyle) and Wilma Smelker (Schaal); his siblings, Gerald Smelker, Gladys Norman (Harry), Charles Smelker (Marilyn) and Dolores Rehor; and his daughter Jennifer Wells.
He is survived by: his wife Christina Marie Lacey; his children, Scott Smelker (Larisa), Christy Wretling (Stephen), Nathan Smelker (Tiffany), Nancy Stevens (Craig) and Kaitlyn Kishbaugh (Carl); his son-in-law Adam Wells; and his siblings-in-law, Lela Smelker and Lee Roy Rehor. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 24th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the St. Charles of Borromeo Catholic Church (513 Colorado Ave, Stratton, CO 80836). A rosary was held on Thursday, April 24th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, April 25th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, April 25th 2025 at the Claremont Cemetery Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made out to the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church or to the Stratton Alumni Fund and may be left at the services or mailed to Koons-Russell Funeral Home, 211 N. Main Ave., Goodland, KS 67735.
