He was predeceased by: his parents, Dean Whalen and Patricia Whalen; and his sister Diane. He is survived by: his children, Joni Spangler and Colby Whalen; his grandsons, Joseph and Michael Watson; and his siblings, Dean (Patty), Tom (Cindy), Connie, Linda (Chris) and Sherry (Tim).
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 20th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Olinger Highland Mortuary & Cemetery (10201 Grant St, Thornton, CO 80229). A graveside service will be held on Thursday, November 20th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Olinger Highland Mortuary (10201 Grant St, Thornton, CO 80229). A reception will be held on Thursday, November 20th 2025 from 11:45 AM to 2:30 PM at the Margaret W. Carpenter Recreation Center (11151 Colorado Blvd, Thornton, CO 80233).
