He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Tapia, Sr. (Vivian) and Carol Cruz; his grandparents, Guadalupe and Elvira Tapia; his girlfriend Donna Hernandez; his girlfriend's children, Leon Hernandez, James Hernandez, Christopher Chavez and LeAnn Hernandez; his granddaughter Leena Hernandez; his siblings, Leroy Tapia (Janet), Teresa Baird (Mike), Janice Esparza (late Conrad Esparza), Roman Cruz (Sonia), Stephanie Marfil (Danny), Tabitha Tapia, Jesse Cruz and Joe Tapia; his friend Kyle Brown; Carol Cruz. He was also cherished by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A funeral service was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Tabor Funeral Home Chapel (75 S 13th Ave, Brighton, CO 80601). A graveside service was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Hillside Cemetery (Co Rd 12, WATTENBURG, CO 80621).
