He was predeceased by : his parents, Leo Maes and Susie Maes. He is survived by : his children, Travis (Jessica), Eric (Bernadette), Kourtney (Alex) and Renee (Eric); his grandchildren, Jada, Cruz Maes, Elijah, Aailiyah, Naveah and Izaiah Vigil; his siblings, Dennis, Norman, Leona, Ed, Bernadette, Lori, Leo, Dee, LaVerne and Robert; and his close friends, Bobbie Jo Colistro-Trujillo, Deb Saiz, Lorraine Andreatta, Sista Sylvia Stephen and Bob Reynolds.

A funeral service was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Boies-Ortega Memorial Chapel (115 E 5th St, Walsenburg, CO 81089).
