He is survived by: his children, Fred A. Shafer, Greg Shafer (Cheryl), Cindy Frappier (Maurice), Christy Buckley (Srikanth) and Bill Shafer; and his daughter-in-law Virginia Shafer. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
