It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joseph Peter Gertje of Westminster, Colorado, who passed away on November 29, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Pius Gertje and Maria Gertje; and his siblings, Frank Gertje, John Gertje, Pius Gertje, Maria Appelhans and Elizabeth Kirchgessner.
He is survived by: his wife Kathy; and his children, Philip and Linnette. He is also survived by his children, siblings-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 10th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Denver Mortuary Chapel (12801 W 44th Ave, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033). A committal service will be held on Friday, April 10th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Committal Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery (12801 W 44th Ave, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033). A reception will be held on Friday, April 10th 2026 at 3:30 PM at the Denver Kickers Club (16776 W 50th Ave, Golden, CO 80403).
