Anthony Maurice Kelley Obituary
Westminster – Anthony Maurice ‘Marc’ Kelley age 82, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend passed away on September 23rd, 2022. He is survived by Michele his wife of 26 years, his son Dan, his grandsons Carson and Cole, his sisters VeAnn and DiAnn, his niece Kimberly, and his nephews Barry, Waylon, and Colby. He was preceded in death by his brother Jim.
Marc was born September 18, 1940 in Durango, Colorado, the grandson of Colorado pioneers. He lived most of his life in Durango, Pagosa Springs, and the Denver area. Marc left Durango in 1963 to join the U.S. Army.
Following his service in the Army airborne, he moved to Southern California, earning an undergraduate degree from California State University in 1975. Marc then attended Iowa State University where in 1978 he earned a master’s degree in industrial psychology. Following graduation, he pursued a career working throughout the U.S. and abroad, finishing his professional career working with the federal government in Denver - where he met his beloved Michele.
He had several hobbies including shooting sports and fishing, but his real passion was his baby-blue ’55 Chevy Belair hot rod. Which he and Michele raced at Bandimere Speedway as often as possible. Marc has donated his body for scientific learning and medical research.
His body will be cremated following this final act of service to others, and he has asked that his ashes be spread in the beloved San Juan Mountains of his youth. As such a celebration of life service will be held for Marc in Summer 2023, at a place and time to be determined then.
