He is survived by: his wife Uta; and his children, Christine, Marianne (Tony), Michael (Lynne), Theresa (Dan), Stephan (Mary), Katherine (George), Christoph (Lovina), Andrew (Linda) and Gregory (Diana). He is also survived by 25 grandchildren and spouses; 33 great-grandchildren.
