He is survived by: his children, Robert E. "Bobby" Coates of Lamar, Colorado and Gwen Cook of Eads, Colorado; his grandchildren, Gwenda Alltop, Ginnifer Mauch (Neil) and Daniel Coates; his great grandchildren, Grace Alltop, Thomas Coates, Gretchen Alltop, Grant Mauch, Kane Mauch and Briar Mauch; and his siblings, Freda Norman, Jeanie Montgomery and Dennis Coates.
