He was predeceased by: his brother Lex Arthur; and his great grandchild Pru. He is survived by: his wife Joan; his children, John Medlin II, Eric Mallonee (Misty), Laura Iorio (Tom) and Alexis Morris (Michael); his grandchildren, Nicholas, Leah, Logan, Talon, Sawyer, Zander, Samantha, Caroline, Jordan and Ty; his great grandchild Lilly; and his sister Nancee Deason. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to VFW Post 1781 or the Larimer County Humane Society.
