He was predeceased by: his spouse Olinda Morais Da Cruz; his parents, Arcino Da Cruz and Maria Rodrigues Sampaio; his grandson David Da Cruz; his son-in-law Jacinto Teixeira; and his sisters, Teresa Teixeira and Senhorinha Alves.
He is survived by: his children, Jose Alberto Da Cruz (Elaine), Arcilio Da Cruz (Ceu), Clara Goncalves (Jose), Manuel Da Cruz, Antonio Da Cruz, Joaquim Da Cruz (Kelly), Carlos Da Cruz (Paula), Fernanda Teixeira and Cidalia Da Cruz; and his siblings, Jose Da Cruz, Zelinda Gomes, Gloria Morais and Odette Pires. He is also survived by grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren.
