He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur S. Ballantyne and Catherine Sloan Ballantyne; and his brothers, James Rooney and William "Bud" Ballantyne. He is survived by: his wife Frances Ireland Ballantyne of Derby; his children, Scott Arthur Ballantyne, Cynthia Sardo (Paul) of Ansonia, Nancy Triantafillos (Robert) of Oxford, Kathy Ballantyne, Sandra Luneau (Ronald) of Seymour and Lisa Ballantyne of Derby; his grandchildren, Scott A. Ballantyne, Jr., Amy Reed, Amanda Dinsmore, Caitlyn Jersey, Michael Sardo of Arthur Joseph, Cardella, Dr. Jessie Calvanese, Renee Sheckfee and Ronald Luneau, Jr.; and his great grandchildren, Landen, Caden Dinsmore, Lillyana, Dallas Reed and Ava Sheckfee.
