He is survived by: his wife Surether Belton; his sister Mattie Belton-Grant; his children, John Belton Jr., Ebony, Yolanda and Elizabeth Belton; his grandchildren, Josiah Belton, Jy'air Hill, Kiyoshi Robinson, Janaija Bentley, Reign Spruill and Klariteé Spruill; his siblings-in-law, Tanya Little, James Little and Melvin Butler; his nephews, Clifton Belton and Tyler Little; his adoptive sons, EJ Duberry and Eric Tinney; his goddaughter Tameka Grant-Mack; his aunt Carolyn Gardener (John); and his sisters, Jessie Belton Butler, Emma Belton Jones and Hattie Belton Nunley.
A wake was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Macedonia Baptist Church (243 Pershing Dr, Ansonia, CT 06401). Visitation was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 9:00 AM at the same location.
