With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Nicholas Amico Sr. of Ansonia, Connecticut, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 15, 2025 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Giuseppe Amico and Michelina Pergola Amico; his son Joseph P. "Jay" Amico; his brothers, Michael and Samuel Amico (Helen); his daughter-in-law Linda Amico; his brother-in-law Charles Lewis; and his siblings' children, Sandra DellaVolpe and Chuck Lewis.

He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Amico (Lewis); his sons, Richard J. Amico of Orange and Nicholas Amico Jr. of Ansonia; his grandchildren, Nicole Fiorelli (Alex) of Oxford and Michael Geanacopoulos (Gabriella) of Henderson, NV; his great grandchildren, Ariana and Dominic Fiorelli; and his nieces, Mary Ann Ryan (Ron), Michele Fraher (Jim Klenota) and Barbara Angelucci.

In honor of Mr. Amico's contributions to Ansonia, the mayor has ordered the flag in front of city hall to be lowered to half-mast this week.
