She was predeceased by : her husband Filippo Valenti; her parents, Ignazio Mari and Anna Catalano Mari; and her siblings, Gaetano Mari and Lina DiSanto.

She is survived by : her children, Rosario Valenti of Bridgeport and Francesca Hyman (Ben) of Naugatuck; her grandchildren, Ryan Valenti, Timothy Davis, Cody Valenti (Alyssa), Carissa Rose and Jacob Hyman; her great grandchildren, Sofia and Amelia Valenti; and her close friend Maria Grazia Mazzacco (Nicholas) of Ansonia. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
