He was predeceased by : his mother Cora Sopelak (Bouley). He is survived by : his wife Sophie Sopelak (Smolinski); his children, Stephen Sopelak (Megan) of Farmington and Carolyn Burns (Martin) of Eldersburg, MD; his grandchildren, Rebecca, Kyle Sopelak, Sean and Daniel Burns; and his brother Kenneth Sopelak (Janet) of Simsbury. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations to honor his memory may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund, Avon Dollars for Scholars, or the Church of Saint Ann.
