She was predeceased by: her parents, Alexander Bellomizi and Mary Bellomizi (Coolac); her husband Richard "Dick" Whitaker; her children, Marilyn Evans and James Whitaker; and her grandsons, Peter Sullivan Jr. and William J. Evans III.

She is survived by: her children, Deborah Sullivan of Granby and Matthew Whitaker (Cheryl) of Avon; her grandchildren, Stacey Griffith (James), Amy Somberg (Matthew), Rachel Johnston (Ryan), Heather Siegel (Perry), Jamie Sindler (Jason) and Christopher Evans; and her great grandchildren, Ariana, David, Ella, Eli, Cooper, Morgan, Noah, Giana, Ava and Millie.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Connecticut Children's Hospital.
