It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James J. Powers Sr. of Avon, Connecticut, who passed away on September 12, 2022, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Nicholas Powers and Stella Powers (Lee); and his siblings, Alice DeSimone, Margret Montgomery, Patty Dente, Ella Hayes, Rita Capezzuto and Thomas Powers.
He is survived by : his wife Mary Powers of Avon; his children, James J. Powers, Jr. (Jennifer) of Avon, Maryellen Powers (Nathaniel Hammond) of Longmeadow, MA and Jeanne Powers; his grandchildren, Alexander (Xinyi), Suzanna Powers, Rebecca Powers of Avon, Max Powers of Avon and Thomas Powers-Hammond of Longmeadow, MA; his great grandchild James Powers; and his sister Cora Webster of Malden, MA. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
