It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Stanley Cohen of Avon, Connecticut, born in Hartford, Connecticut, who passed away on April 12, 2024, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Hyman Cohen and Sarah Cohen (Neikrie); his brothers, Joseph and Fred Cohen; and his son Michael Cohen.

He is survived by : his wife Janet Cohen (Bossler); his daughters, Suzanne C. Hard (Eric) of West Hartford, Amy C. Paul (Neil) of Avon, Leslie C. Silverman (Steven) of Bloomfield and Shayna L. Cohen of Simsbury; his grandchildren, Alison Hard (Michael Weng), Jake Hard (Hanna), Claire Hard, Colby Paul, Georgia Paul, Holly Paul, Samantha Silverman, Lindsay Otte (Robert), Chloe (Shaya Lomax), Max Stanley Silverman, Julia Luciani, Claudia Luciani, Benjamin Luciani and Nico Luciani; his great grandchildren, Lily Weng, Ty and Maddox Otte; and his siblings, Beverly Kendall and Martin Cohen. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Carmon Funeral Home & Family Center (301 Country Club Rd, Avon, CT 06001). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

From his tenure as a former member of the Windsor Zoning Board and the Windsor Democratic Town Committee to his roles as a State Trial Referee and Fact Finder, Stanley had made significant contributions to the legal and civic realms.
