She was predeceased by: her husband Charles "Chuck" Sherwin; her parents, George Washington and Irene Washington (Maxwell); and her siblings, Jimmy Washington, John Washington, Bobby Washington, Martha Namey (Washington), Ellie Batky (Washington) and Cheryl Washington.
She is survived by: her children, Debbie Sherwin (Kathy Beck) and Wayne Sherwin (Sebyl Anyogal) of Barkhamsted; her grandchildren, Tom Mcllroy (Lyndsey), Heather Martin (Michael) of Avon, Harmony and Gypsy Sherwin; her great grandchildren, Rachel, Hannah Martin and Bellamy Mcllroy; and her siblings, Ronnie Washington of Norfolk, Mary Kantor of Torrington, George Washington (Debbie) of Barkhamsted, Al Washington (Kim) of Torrington and Brent Washington. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 9th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church (93 River Rd, Barkhamsted, CT 06063).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her name may be made to the church.
