He was predeceased by: his parents, William DeShay and Dorothy DeShay; his wife Joyce DeShay; his brothers-in-law, James Barno and Wayne Koch; and his grandson Dylan DeShay.
He is survived by: his friend Joyce; his sons, Michael (Jamie) of Niceville, FL, Jeffery (Angel) of Cranberry Township, PA, Derek (Tammy) of Newburgh, NY and Brett (Laura) of Newtown, CT.; his brother David DeShay (Christine) of Stamping Ground, KY; his sisters-in-law, Marie Koch of Johnson City, NY and Patricia Barno of Binghamton, NY; and his grandchildren, Emma, Bryce, Riley, Fiona and Tyler. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
