We announce the death of Etta Barnes-Reynolds of Bloomfield, Connecticut, who passed away on October 7, 2026, at the age of 89. Etta will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Russell Barnes and Juanita Barnes-Edward (Smith); her brother Shortly; her husband Eddie Reynolds, Sr.; her sons, Eddie Reynolds, Jr., Derrick Reynolds, Sr., Brian Reynolds, Sr., Steven Reynolds and Lawrence Cole; her son-in-law Frederick Martin, Jr.; her daughter Michele Reynolds; and her siblings, John Barnes, Sr., Russell Barnes, Jr. and Bettie Rose Diggs.
She is survived by: her children, Peter Reynolds (Tracy) of Bloomfield, Connecticut, Dennis Cole (Ausucon) of Bolingbrook, Illinois, Cheryl Reynolds of Avon, Connecticut, Bettie Martin of Louisville, Kentucky and Denise Taylor of Springfield, Massachusetts.; her sister-in-law Jeanette Barnes of Hartford, Connecticut; her granddaughter Patrice Morris; her niece Ella Mae Barnes of Hartford, Connecticut; and her sister Mildred Gibson of Bloomfield, Connecticut.. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Christ Church of Deliverance (159 Blue Hills Ave, Hartford, CT 06112). A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
