With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Irene Reed of Bloomfield, Connecticut, who passed away on April 25, 2024 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Benjamin Compton and Mable Compton; her siblings, Levy Compton (Pauree), Willie Compton (Mattie), Johnny Compton, Catherine Compton, Francis Compton and Fannie Mae Compton; her husband Louis Reed, Sr.; and her son Donald Reed.

She is survived by : her brother Jackie Compton (Barbara); and her children, Reverend Audrey "Ann" Ford (Wallace) of Bridgeport, Prophetess Carolyn "Cal" Grant (Dennis Sr.) of Hartford, Louis Reed, Jr. of Georgia and Steven Reed (Barbara) of Hartford. She is also survived by 27 great grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchild, 4 great-great-great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Saturday, May 4th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Mount Olive Church (20 Battles St, Hartford, CT 06120). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, May 4th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, May 4th 2024 at the Spring Grove Cemetery (2035 Main St, Hartford, CT 06120).
