She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Matthews and Jessie Matthews; and her siblings, Betty Carolyn Matthews, Nora Lee Hayes, Charliemae Mote, Benjamin Franklin Matthews, Freddie Delmus Matthews, Joan Anderson and Jesse Kate Matthews.
She is survived by: her sons, Kenneth L. Matthews and Jeffrey S. Matthews; her grandchildren, Annette Lawrence, Brandon Matthews, Nathan Matthews and Isiah; her great grandchildren, Kiandra Lawrence, Alilyana Reyes, Angel Rivera, La'Niyah Rivera and Abel Lawrence; her great great grandchild Amiyah Fellows; and her sisters, Mary Love Martin, Doris Elizabeth Ashe and Vickie Miller. She is also survived by relatives and friends.
