He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Mather and Anna Mather (Weigold); his wife Elaine Felix; his daughter Jill Mindek; and his siblings, Ted, Walter Jr., Alice and Dorothy.
He is survived by: his children, Wayne of Lebanon, Sharon Chute of Bozrah, Raelene Pilon (Mike) of Bristol, Scott (Judy) of Newbury, Jeffrey of West Hartford and Todd (Magda) of Sugarloaf Key; and his son-in-law David Mindek of Mansfield. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Potter Funeral Home (456 Jackson St, Willimantic, CT 06226). A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 at 1:30 PM at the Willington Hill Cemetery (171 Tolland Turnpike, Willington, CT 06279).
