He was predeceased by: his parents, Greek Chaltas (George Nicholas) and Alexandra Tsalavouta Chaltas; his aunt Fanny; his siblings, Nick, Paul, Sophia, John and Mary; and his sister-in-law Demetra "Dede" Daniel Perrelli.
He is survived by: his wife E. Barbara "Bobby" Chaltas; his sons, Basil Chaltas, Jr. (Anne Abramson) of Chicago, IL and Thano Chaltas (Alison Hornsby Chaltas) of Providence, RI; his grandchildren, William and Katherine Chaltas; his nephew Adam Perrelli; his great-nephew Andrew Perrelli; and his godchildren, Aleka Chaltas Munroe, Dennis Munroe and Dorothy Daniel Roddy. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
