She was predeceased by: her spouse John S. Shroad; her parent Josef Homolka of Vienna; her sister-in-law Agnes Burns (Bunny); her niece Mary Alice Lyons; her nephew David Lyons; Charles V. Burns, Sr..

She is survived by: her parent Leopoldina Kubitza Homolka of Vienna; and her nieces and nephews, Barbara Easterbrooks, Charles V. Burns of Middletown, RI, Anne Burns of Bristol, RI, Kim Lyons, Deb Reilly, Rory Burns, David Easterbrooks, Jay Lyons, Conor Burns, Joseph Reilly and James Reilly.

Donations may be made in Helene's memory to the Visiting Nurse Home and Hospice, 1184 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI 02871.
