Jeffrey L Gull Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Jeffrey L Gull, who went to be with the Lord on June 2, 2025, after courageously battling Parkinson's disease for many years.
Born on April 11, 1946, in Haverhill, Massachusetts, he was the first of seventeen grandchildren born to Greek immigrants who had escaped the turmoil of war with Turkey. As a first-generation Greek American, he carried forward the strength, resilience, and values of his heritage throughout his remarkable life.
Following in his father's footsteps of service, he proudly served our country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam era, stationed at Annapolis. His father's distinguished 27-year naval career instilled in him a deep sense of duty and honor that would guide him throughout his life.
The eldest of three children, he grew up in Oceanside, Long Island, New York, where he was cherished by his two younger sisters, Stephanie and Elayne. His mother's loving presence at home, with occasional work outside the household, provided the stable foundation that shaped his character. From elementary school through high school graduation, he was well-loved by all who knew him in his Long Island community.
The family later relocated to Framingham, Massachusetts. His humble nature and generous spirit made him someone who never expected anything for himself, yet gave freely to others. Those who knew him will forever remember his extraordinary sense of humor.
After attending the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, he built a successful career as a professional sales and manufacturers' representative. However, his true passion lay in mentoring young people through coaching high school lacrosse in Connecticut, where his extraordinary achievements would eventually earn him a place in the Connecticut Lacrosse Hall of Fame.
Jeff Gull's coaching legacy is truly remarkable. In 1979, during his first head coaching position, he led Hand High School to a 16-game winning streak and reached the state championship game. He repeated this accomplishment the following year by guiding Hand to another state championship final. After leaving Hand, he founded the boys' lacrosse program at Cheshire High School, where he was named Coach of the Year in 1985.
Over his distinguished 27-year head coaching career, Jeff amassed over 200 wins while coaching at several Connecticut schools. Beyond his coaching achievements, he was instrumental in building the sport from the ground up, founding youth lacrosse programs, significantly contributing to lacrosse's grassroots growth throughout Connecticut.
In 2012, Jeff Gull was officially inducted into the Connecticut Lacrosse Hall of Fame, honored for his extensive coaching record, program-building efforts, and positive impact on the sport throughout the state. More than the victories and accolades, he was remembered for the life lessons he taught and the profound positive impact he had on countless young athletes whose lives he touched.
His greatest pride and joy were his two daughters, Meredith and Tiffany, and the four precious grandchildren they blessed him with: Emerson and Britton (Meredith's children), and Ella and Dylan (Tiffany's children). His eyes would light up whenever he spoke of his family, and his love for them was evident to all who knew him. He also cherished his beloved nephew, Taylor (Elayne's son); and nephew Colby, and niece Brittany (Stephanie's children), holding a special place in his heart for each of them.
He leaves behind a legacy of service, laughter, humility, and unconditional love. His memory will forever be treasured by his daughters, grandchildren, sisters, extended family, former players, colleagues, and the countless friends whose lives he touched with his kindness and joy.
"Well done, good and faithful servant."
