It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Eleanor Mencel of Bridgeport, Connecticut, who passed away on September 27, 2025, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Aprile and Carolina Minardo Duva (Salvatore Duva); and her sister Mary Baron. She is survived by: her husband Joe; her children, Joe W. Mencel Jr. (Jill), Jimmy Mencel (Liz) and Kathy Garasimowicz (Paul); her grandchildren, Anya, Alec, Andrew, Paul, Patrick and Elizabeth; and her great grandchildren, Jet, Sage, River and Maizy. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 29th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home (419 White Plains Rd, Trumbull, CT 06611). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, September 30th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Catherine of Siena Church (200 Shelton Rd, Trumbull, CT 06611). A burial will be held on Tuesday, September 30th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the St. John Cemetery (2610 Nichols Ave, Stratford, CT 06614).
