It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Hipolita Torres (Bridgeport, Connecticut), who passed away on November 30, 2025, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. As Hipolita departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Hipolita may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Hipolita leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Leonarda Figueroa and Antonio Torres; and her children, Zenaida Melendez and Luis Melendez. She is survived by: her daughters, Maria Melendez and Ana Melendez; and her siblings, Maria, Elijuo, Gilberto, Marco, Manuel and Gliselia.
Viewing will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Funeraria Luz de Paz / Rodriguez Funeral Services (426 E Washington Ave, Bridgeport, CT 06608). A burial will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the St. Michael's Cemetery (2205 Stratford Ave, Stratford, CT 06615).
