“I just described Joann to my wife as a woman of peace, joy, generosity and gratitude- a presence that I so needed and relied on as a young 21 year old woman of color entering the Corporate world. Even though I have not seen Joann in over a decade, I still think of her often, whether when I shake someone's hand and I recall her Toastmasters speech on shaking hands or when I spill something on my clothes and I use dishwashing liquid to remove it. This world is less brighter without her.”
