He was predeceased by: his parents, Philip Ruane and Teresa Ruane (Slovensky); his sister-in-law Agnes Ruane; Janet Gilberti. He is survived by: his siblings, Kevin Ruane and Colleen; and his brother-in-law Frank Kaczmarek. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
