He was predeceased by: his spouses, Aline and Santos Barata; his parents, Jose Barata and Luiza Maria; his sister America; and his brothers-in-law, Manuel Nunes and Sebastiao Barata.
He is survived by: his daughter Manuela Lopes (Jorge); his granddaughter Nicole Tupka (Michael); his great grandchildren, Julien, Hailey and Chloe; and his siblings, Isidro Barata (Lurdes) of Shelton, Adriano Barata (Albertina), Ermelinda Barata and Guilhermina Barata of Portugal. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home (419 White Plains Rd, Trumbull, CT 06611). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the Our Lady of Fatima Church (429 Huntington Rd, Bridgeport, CT 06608).
