He was predeceased by: his parents, Katherine Nerka Szwec and Bridgeport. He is survived by: his wife Marie A. Spinelli Szwec of Vincent's Medical Center; his sons, Raymond Szwec, Jr. (Darcie) and Joseph Szwec (Diana Almada); his half-brother Basil Sahajdak; his grandchildren, Gillian Smithers (Cooper) and William Szwec; and his great grandchild Wesley Raymond Smithers.
