He is survived by: his children, Richard Hyder Jr., Robert Hyder (Tara), Kenneth Petrovich, Lisa Argraves (Steve) and Christine Petrovich; his siblings, Katherine Tardy (Dave), David Hyder and Franklin Hyder; and his friend Rick. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
