She was predeceased by: her husband Manuel Mendes; her parents, Joao Santos and Aurora Goncalves Dos Santos; and her siblings, Ana, Joao, Francisco and Manuel.

She is survived by: her sons, John Mendes (Elisabete) of Monroe and Domingos Mendes (Ana Paula) of Easton; and her siblings, Jose, Domingos (Esmeralda) and Maria. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and family.
