With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Sonia Ivette Orriola of Bridgeport, Connecticut, who passed away on May 15, 2026 at the age of 75. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Sonia may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Luis A. Orriola and Fé Ester Acevedo. She is survived by: her children, Sonia I. Aldiva, Brenda Curbelo, Fexabel Curbelo, Grisela Curbelo, Hector Curbelo, Edwin Joel Rivera and Keisha Lopez; and her siblings, Luis Angel Orriola, Angel Luis Orriola and Edwin Orriola. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, extended family members, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 29th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Funeraria Luz (426 E Washington Ave, Bridgeport, CT 06608).
