It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Viola Peterson of Bridgeport, Connecticut, who passed away on September 5, 2023, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Emanuel Wilbanks and Lillie Wilbanks (Quiller); and her former husband George J. Peterson. She is survived by: her husband Benjamin F. Vinson; her child Leslie Vinson; her grandsons, Kendall A. and Jayden R. Wilborn; her siblings-in-law, John J. Bernard and Helen Eversley; her nephew Kenneth Pugh (Samatha); her nieces, Anita Harris (Pastor Robert II), Deidre Pugh, Diane McNeill (Frank) and Dorothy Harris; her siblings, Lester E., William D., Dr. James Wilbanks, Margaret E. Barnard, Lillie M. and Rachel R. Wilbanks; her stepsons, Benjamin and Donald Vinson; her sisters-in-law, Mary L. Wilbanks and Janie Pugh-Bailey; and her nephew Arthur Eversley. She is also survived by other relatives and kind friends. in addition to her late husband.
