We announce the death of Derek Armstrong of Bristol, Connecticut, who passed away on September 27, 2026, at the age of 27. Derek will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Derek will be remembered for the impact he had on the lives of those around him. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Derek will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture his life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Derek’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He is survived by: his parents, Mark Armstrong and Lisa Armstrong; his grandparents, Paul and Judith Armstrong of Bristol; his siblings, Matt Shields of Bristol, Jack Armstrong of Hartford, Jessa Armstrong of Forestville and Genevieve Pacheco of Windsor Locks; and his stepsister Dr. Kristin Sohai of New Haven. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins, and a nephew and a niece.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the O'Brien Funeral Home (24 Lincoln Ave, Bristol, CT 06010). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
