She was predeceased by : her parents, James V. O'Brien and Edith O'Brien (Tyler); and her brother James O'Brien. She is survived by : her husband Peter Engels; her son Cmdr; her siblings, Daniel O'Brien (Carol) of Florida, Dr. Eloise O'Brien of Buffalo, NY and Jocelyn Pirro (John) of Litchfield; and her nephew Richard Nightingale. She is also survived by several other nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her name may be made to the charity of one's choice.
