He was predeceased by: his parents, Cleon McArthur and Elva McArthur (Mull); and his siblings, Chris McArthur and Sharon Brown. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Karr McArthur; his daughter Cindy Pough (Doug) of New Britain; his great grandchildren, Olive, Eli Aponte, AJ and Renzo Germano; his brother Rob McArthur (Sherrie); and his siblings-in-law, Allan Karr (Jessie), Dawn McArthur and Carol Karr.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the Adzima Funeral Home (50 Paradise Green Pl, Stratford, CT 06614). The inurnment will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 2:00 PM at the St. John's Cemetery (2610 Nichols Ave, Stratford, CT 06614). A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 3:15 PM at the Black Rock Congregation Church (3685 Black Rock Turnpike, Fairfield, CT 06825).
In lieu of flowers those desiring may donate in memory of John to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
