He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Coan and Helen Coan (Barker); his daughter Maureen Jones; his siblings, Frank Coan Jr., Robert Coan, Marjorie Simpson and Rosemary Tottles; and his former wife Emma Coan (Vincenzo).
He is survived by: his wife Theresa Coan (Comparone); his children, Richard Coan Jr. of Niantic, CT, Brian (Karen Beals), Alan Beals of Bristol, CT and Karen; his son-in-law Larry Hansen of Cape Cod, MA; his sister Delores McDaniel of Bristol, CT; and his grandchildren, JT (Franklin III), Kevin, Shawn, Keith, Erin, Ryan and Jeffrey. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
