He was predeceased by: his parents, Valentine Bayer and Elizabeth Bayer (Krug); his wife Maria V. Bayer (Gabriele); and his brother Henry D. Bayer. He is survived by: his children, David R. Bayer of Atlanta, GA, Linda E. Gabriele of Terryville, Cynthia Bayer-Crespo (Jason Crespo) of Avon and Werner G. Bayer, Jr. of New Britain; his grandchildren, Rocco N. Vehovich, Lily Bayer of Newington and Christian Bayer of Lilburn, GA; his brother-in-law Ugo Gabriele of Venice, FL; and his brother Hans Bayer of Plainville. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
