He is survived by: his children, Jennifer LaCart (Andy), Ann Beede (Brandon), Richard Gruby (Samantha), Joseph Gruby and Phillip Gruby; and his sister Janet Gruby. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
