She was predeceased by: her husband Dennis A. Rybick; and her parents, James Nilsson and Mary Nilsson (Geissler). She is survived by: her sons, Robert D. Rybick (Nikole Richmond) of East Windsor and Andrew J. Rybick of Broad Brook; her grandchildren, Mia Phillips and Blake Rybick; and her siblings, James Nilsson Jr. (Joan) of South Windsor, Daniel Nilsson (Mary Beth) of Broad Brook and Karen Cudnik (James) of Somers. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She returned during the COVID-19 pandemic to assist the company and help train new employees, and she remained a trusted source of support for her sons and the family business throughout the years.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Kathy's memory may be made to Angel Horses Inc., a horse retirement sanctuary located in West Granby, CT.
