He was predeceased by : his parents, Walter Kania and Alice Kania (Renaud) of Brooklyn; his daughter Dawn; his uncle Clifford; and his aunt Norma Renaud.

He is survived by : his daughter Charlie; his wife Nancy; his daughter Lori (Gary); his brother Robert Kania; and his grandchildren, Matthew and Lauren. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
