Bassett Jr. of Brooklyn, Connecticut, born in Putnam, Connecticut, who passed away on April 10, 2026, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John E. Bassett Sr. and Ruth E. Bassett (Franklin); and his siblings, Lester Bassett, Walter "Skip" Bassett, Richard Bassett and Ruth Schaefer.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia M. Bassett (Green); his children, Ann Marie Milette (George) and John David Bassett (Kandyse); his grandchildren, Jennifer Nemeth (Matthew) and Jonathan Milette (Kimberly); his child Morgan Bassett; his great grandchildren, Arlo Nemeth, Wynton Nemeth, Rylee Milette and Maren Milette; and his siblings, Phyllis Coombs, Linda Anderson, Cynthina Wildowski (Dave), Barbara Bitgood (Jeff) and Sheryl Shea (Steve). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
