He was predeceased by: his parents, Gunnar Sandell and Elsie Sandell; his sister Carolyn Sandell Boswell of Farmington; and his cousin Bill Erickson. He is survived by: his wife Mj Bennett-Sandell (Maryjane); his pet Bean; his sisters-in-law, Jeanne Bennett-Russo (Chris) and Robin M Smith; his nieces and nephews, Dr Heather L. Wilson (Melvin), Joseph K Smith IV (Kristy), Robert T Smith (Yunhee), Quinn R Russo (Guy), Steven Boswell (Kristine), Mark Boswell (Sally) and Eric Boswell (Jessica); his great-nephews, Nathan Smith, Jacob Smith, Dean Smith, Josh Boswell, Nick Boswell, Wyatt Boswell and Ben Boswell; his great-niece Eva Boswell; his extended family, Linda Genna (Lenny), Susan Erickson, Mark Erickson (Michelle), Anton Salinkas, Kyra Salinkas, Dominic Genna, David Kalish Sandell of Cape Cod and Jae Eklund (Sherri) of Cape Cod; and his close friends, Dave Vincent, Bill Howard and Jim Mullane.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 27th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Matthew Lutheran Church (224 Lovely St, Avon, CT 06001).
