With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Mary Lou Upson of Canton, Connecticut, born in Avon, Connecticut, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 11, 2025 at the age of 79. She was predeceased by: her parents, James M. Leahy and Mary Arline Leahy (McMahon); and her brother Thomas M. Leahy (Janet). She is survived by: her children, Pamela S. Jerram (Upson) and Mark A. Upson (Diana); her grandchildren, Emma, Abigail, Julia, Oscar, Saffi and Jackson; and her sisters, Dorothy Gavalis (James) and Arlene Buckley (Kenneth).
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Ahern Funeral Home (111 Main St, Unionville, CT 06085). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Donations in Mary Lou's memory can be made to the charity of choice. But some favorite groups would include any animal rescue, breast cancer or Alzheimer's research groups.
