With profound sadness, we say goodbye to James L. Mertz of Cheshire, Connecticut, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. He was predeceased by: his parents, Laurence and Isabelle; and his brother John Mertz. He is survived by: his wife Margaret (Margie); his sons, John (Elizabeth Hall) of Nutley, NJ and Stephen of Eugene, OR.; his grandchildren, Alyssandre Mertz of Nutley, NJ, Oskar Mertz and Alexander Khiery of Eugene, OR.; his siblings, Mary Helen Robles and Richard Mertz; John Koepke.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Cheshire Lutheran Church (660 W Main St, Cheshire, CT 06410).
